Auriane Buffet, Technical Sales WTG Team Lead
What do you do as Technical Sales WTG Team Lead for Cadeler?
My day-to-day work mainly consists of assessing the technical requirements and build a robust technical proposal for the tenders we receive from our Clients. From the very early stage of a wind farm development up until the signature of a firm contract, I am responsible for the engineering studies. This also includes liaising with our Clients and different industry stakeholders.
Tell us about your career patch so far
I started at Cadeler (back then Swire Blue Ocean) while still being a MSc student in Mechanical Engineering at the Denmark Technical University with a focus on maritime engineering. This experience prior to completing my degree confirmed that I wanted to head towards a career in the offshore wind industry.
Which parts of the job do you enjoy most?
As a Technical Sales Engineer I am sitting in a position where technical, contractual, and commercial challenges meet. Client relations is also a big part of the role and I really enjoy having a broad approach on the tenders we are working on. We are constantly challenged in this fast-growing industry and have to keep working closely with Cadeler’s different departments to meet our Client’s needs.
What motivates you when you wake up in the morning and go to work?
In Cadeler I have found the perfect combination between my maritime engineering background and my strong interest in renewable energies. Being able to combine my work with my beliefs and every day act towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions linked to energy production is of great importance to me.
What is the best part about working for Cadeler as a company?
Working with dedicated colleagues to solve challenges of a fast-growing company and industry, with the same goal: installing offshore wind turbines.
What are you working on at the moment?
With our new state-of-the-art vessels soon being added to our fleet, we are supporting our Clients and answering tenders on a continuous basis.
